Wetsipon Workshop is a learner led daughter - mother tandem, exploring curiously and creatively: Jade and Nina.

Wetsitales is a collection of animation shorts presenting individual folk tales from the regions.

Stories that should be retold and not forgotten.

Embracing who we are, knowing what we have lost, preserving and appreciating what we still have so we would not continue to lose. Old is Gold. I hope in our own way we encourage the next generation to look back and appreciate our culture better.

The Monkey and The Turtle

PHILIPPINES

Based on a folktale from Laguna that has always been often shown as silly fun friendships. The real story was more than friendships turning sour.

A clueless Monkey sought the help of a street-smart Turtle, lazy added to clueless, Monkey instead of learning the ropes, tried to take advantage of the efforts of his mentor friend the Turtle.

Turtle will not allow this to happen, in a series of actions of getting even, the story goes from naughty to nasty. Turtle kills Monkey, and gets back at the group of monkeys that started this all.

Kapitan made the wisest and bravest decision to save Camarag which is now the present Echague, Isabela in the Philippines.
